ASCU's Going Greener

Everyone leaves an environmental footprint, and we are no exception.  We know that there are many things that we can do to reduce our footprint.  We are committed to finding and implementing as many ways as we can to make a positive impact on our environment. We are currently researching programs that we can adopt and plan to have a Going Greener program up and running in the very near future. 

We recognize that printing newsletters is not only expensive, it is also very hard on our environment. So in 2009, we decided to look at some alternative ways to communicate with you. To start, we implemented an Advance Savings Community Focus e-newsletter. In 2010 we are looking at possibly phasing out the print copy of our newsletter so to ensure that you don’t miss out on receiving valuable information, please sign up to receive the e-newsletter by clicking here. We also now have a Facebook fan page are making regular tweets on Twitter.  We are using these social media tools in addition to our website to ensure that important information is in your hands as quickly as possible in the ways that you prefer to receive your communications.   

In support of Earth Day, ASCU donated trees to six local schools.  Click here for more information.

On March 29, 2008, ASCU joined over 5700 businesses and 92,000 people world-wide by participating in Earth Hour.  In support of this initiative, we turned out our lights for one hour starting at 8:00 p.m.
